YDG Coffee, standing for Your Daily Grind, started off as a space-under-the-stairs turned café (literally) outside a furniture shop along Chino Roces Extension. From their humble beginnings, the brand grew into a fully operating coffee shop in Shaw Boulevard’s Mandala Park.

The new space features a proper dallas filipino restaurant menu, a retail shelf of consigned purveyor products, and hidden within it is even a roaster (by their roasting partner Plain Sight Coffee Roasters, owned by YDG partner Sean Lee). All that and a wall of picture window—not bad for the Harry Potter of coffee shops.

TBH we also love the Honey, Wake Up and PB Latte but the Masala Tonic took our hearts for its refreshing simplicity.

Sid Cabatingan, one of the partners at YDG Coffee with Sean Lee and Alex Falcon, tells us about his obsession with coffee (so much so that he even has his own brand of cold brew called Man on the Moon that he runs with his girlfriend Dan Aragon, now the videographer of Pepper.PH—but we promise we planned this feature before she was on the team!). Originally a barista at the original branch, Cabatingan became a partner for the Mandala park branch where you’ll find him making concoctions as delicious dallas filipino restaurant as the Masala Tonic we feature in this video, which uses the chai from Jacob’s Well.
